  • once again with staalplaat soundsystem on a challenging project; this time we went to New Delhi (IN) to prepare 30 Auto-Rikshaws to play their horns remotely, creating moving soundpatterns in the Delhi traffic as they move on predefined routes arround Canaught Place. using standard two-way radios this project was purely analogue hardware building this time. look for details and documentation www.staalplaat.org/site/2009/08/15/staalplaat-soundsystem-work-in-progress-new-dehli/. this project was hosted and produced by Khoj International, New Delhi
  • i was invited to do a piece for the cargocontainer exhibtionspace of primakunst in kiel (DE); the first public exhibited sound work of mine, titled 20′ (twentyfeet), is working with a halfsized cargocontainer — 20′ long — serving as a gallery space for primakunst. the concept is based on the question, how to observe an exhibitionspace, which is normally only inhibited by visual media, auraly only. it splits up in an active and in an inactive part. first the container is set into slight vibration by two custom actuators, hitting a low frequency arround a third of its own resonance frequency of arround ~56Hz. this created a low steady tone, causing a dense and subliminal sight in and into the white-walled space — shown from july 12th til august 31st 2009. the inactive step was recording the filtered resonance of the containermambrane with contactmicrophones over 6-8 hours a couple of days and compile/packing these layers into 1 hour afterwards. the compiled recording will most likely be released online and on cd by primakunst later this year. watch a sketchy snapshot 20′ - twentyfeet @ prima kunst on vimeo
